چکیده

Hypertension elevates the risk of heart disease and stroke which are one most frequent causes death. Fortunately, hypertension is manageable with use anti-hypertensives a healthy lifestyle. However, patient non-adherence to prescribed dosing regimen primary reason for uncontrolled blood pressure levels. Daily multiple doses medication major reasons non-compliance regimen. Multiple result low solubility high first-pass metabolism anti-hypertensives. There several approaches improve bioavailability like polymeric non-polymeric enhance solubility, avoiding through alternate routes drug delivery others. The objective this review discuss different oral anti-hypertensive drugs.

Nanotechnology Based Approaches for Enhancing Oral Bioavailability of Poorly Water Soluble Antihypertensive Drugs

Oral administration is the most convenient route among various routes of drug delivery as it offers high patient compliance. However, the poor aqueous solubility and poor enzymatic/metabolic stability of drugs are major limitations in successful oral drug delivery. There are several approaches to improve problems related to hydrophobic drugs. Among various approaches, nanotechnology based drug ...

Polymeric particulates to improve oral bioavailability of peptide drugs.

Oral administration remains the most convenient way of delivering drugs. Recent advances in biotechnology have produced highly potent new molecules such as peptides, proteins and nucleic acids. Due to their sensitivity to chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis as well as a poor cellular uptake, their oral bioavailability remains very low. Despite sophisticated new delivery systems, the development o...

Approaches to Improve the Oral Bioavailability and Effects of Novel Anticancer Drugs Berberine and Betulinic Acid

BACKGROUND The poor bioavailability of Berberine (BBR) and Betulinic acid (BA) limits the development of these promising anticancer agents for clinical use. In the current study, BBR and BA in spray dried (SD) mucoadhesive microparticle formulations were prepared. METHODS A patented dual channel spray gun technology established in our laboratory was used for both formulations. Gastrointestina...

Solid dispersions as strategy to improve oral bioavailability of poor water soluble drugs.

Solid dispersions are one of the most promising strategies to improve the oral bioavailability of poorly water soluble drugs. By reducing drug particle size to the absolute minimum, and hence improving drug wettability, bioavailability may be significantly improved. They are usually presented as amorphous products, mainly obtained by two major different methods, for example, melting and solvent...
